Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and what better way to celebrate than to highlight those who were struck by Cupid’s arrow while studying at U of T Engineering.

Skule™ will always hold a special place in the hearts of the following alumni:

Chris Roscoe (EngSci 0T7, MASc AeroE 0T9) & Caitlin Roscoe (MechE 1T0)

How long have you been married?

We have been married just over three years.

How and where did you meet?

Chris: We met at the first Skule™ Stage Band rehearsal of fall 2003. Caitlin was starting her first year of U of T Engineering and I was returning for my second year. We both played trumpet in the back row. I showed up late, purple and in coveralls. Caitlin wasn’t totally impressed at first.

Describe a special U of T Engineering moment you both shared?

Caitlin: Our first date was at Bnad Skating on a cold December afternoon. My younger sister was visiting, and as we were skating around she noticed Chris paying a lot of attention to me and pointed him out: “You should date him, he looks fun.” We spent the afternoon skating around Nathan Phillip’s Square together hand in hand, and the rest is history.

What do you love most about each other?

Caitlin: Chris and I make a great team. He is always two steps ahead of me — when I go to do something, it is already done! Since moving to Maryland, we have made many trips back and forth to Toronto, and it is always a pleasure when I find the car loaded after having gone to bed early the night before. Or when I get hungry during the drive and Chris says to check in the lunch bag for some delicious lunch he has made. I hope that sometimes I can do a few things for him before he can get to them!

Chris: Caitlin has the amazing ability to brighten the mood of any room she steps into. My family has dubbed this “The Caitie Effect.” Her positive attitude is incredibly infectious, even in the darkest of times, and she always sees the best in anyone she meets. This, in turn, helps me see the best in people, too, even when things aren’t going my way, and helps me to be a better person for it.

How long have you been married?

We have been married for 31 years.

How and where did you meet?

Albert: We met at an engineering dance party organized by the UT Chinese Student Association.

Describe a special U of T Engineering moment you both shared?

Albert: The engineering dance party is a special moment we treasure the most.

What do you love most about each other?

Albert: We are yin and yang. We support and complement each other on everything we do. One good example is that Teresa loves cooking and I love eating.  We travel the world together and experience new things — and we both treasure family values.
