James Arthur Chamberlin (1915-1981) contributed greatly to aviation in Canada and to manned spaceflight in the United States. While in Canada, he was directly responsible for the design of the CF-100, the C-102 and the CF-105 Arrow aircraft.
He left Canada to join NASA in the United States where his skills and experience were applied to the teamwork necessary to complete the Mercury and Gemini spacecraft. He played a guiding role in one of this century’s greatest goals: Project Apollo.
