Edward D. Heller spent his career in the study of value management, which culminated in a textbook on the concept. Additionally, he continually wrote papers and articles on value engineering, as well as delivering public lectures on the topic.

He spent time as the Manager of Cost Reduction and Value Control, General Dynamics, for Convair, and directed the development of value analysis of management practices techniques.  He was also a great lecturer for several UCLA extension courses.

  • Two-time recipient of the SAVE National Award for best paper of the year
  • Honourary Member Award from the Society of American Value Engineers
