Throughout his entire professional career, Henry Girdleston Acres (1880-1945) was almost exclusively involved in the utilization of water resources and the production and transmission of electricity from hydroelectric power sources.
His reputation in the power field was international in scope and he accepted consulting assignments in a number of foreign countries.
His memory continues on in more than 370 transmission lines, 20 storage dams and 28 hydroelectric generating stations.
