Since 2012, Stefanie Blain-Moraes has been working on electroencephalogram (EEG) assessment and monitoring of consciousness and cognition as a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan and McMaster University. Her primary areas of interest center on developing technologies that enhance the lives of individuals who are unable to move or speak. She is currently developing a technology called “biomusic”, which converts the physiological signals of unresponsive individuals into musical output.
