John Talbot Dyment joined Trans Canada Airlines as Chief Engineer in 1938, after some years in industry, and two Federal departments. When he retired from Air Canada some 30 years later, the airline had become one of the world’s leading carriers.

While with Air Canada, he contributed greatly to improving the design, building and performance of aircraft, and their equipment and services.

Air Canada’s reputation for safety and efficiency are second to none, due in large measure to his efforts and imagination. Upon retirement, his services as a consultant were sought internationally.
