Join us this month as Prof. Piero Triverio discusses about his mathematical models to understand and design complex electrical systems. The methods developed by his group have been applied to integrated circuits, meta surface antennas and power cables. In the final part of the talk, Prof. Triverio and his collaborator, Dr. Laura Jimenez Juan, will speak about their joint effort to develop mathematical models for blood flow in the human body, which can help physicians understand the root causes of cardiovascular diseases.
Prof. Piero Triverio is an Associate Professor at Unibersity of Toronto’s Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, and the Institute of Biomaterials & Biomedical Engineering. He holds the Canada Research Cha ir in Computational Electromagnetics.
Dr. Laura Jimenez-Juan is a cardiothoracic radiologist at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (SHSC), an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, and an Affiliate Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. Dr. Jimenez-Juan received the Alumni Research Award of the Department of Medical Imaging in 2012 and the Research Scholar Grant from the Radiological Society of North America in 2017.
