Ernest is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license holder with 16 years of marketing and engineering experience specialized in aircraft inspections, maintenance, modification, heavy checks, cabin reconfiguration, inflight entertainment system, inflight broadband connectivity, and aircraft parts supply chain management. He is currently the head of IMS Service at Airbus China.

Prior to his current job, Ernest worked in various key positions in China Aircraft Services and Panasonic Avionics Corporation. He is a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and the Royal Aeronautical Society of Hong Kong (RAeS). He is the school ambassador of HKIE, and was also a mentor for students in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Rosaryhill School.

In 2015, Ernest was awarded the winner of HKIE Engineer Song Lyrics Translation Competition. In 2016, he was awarded by HKIE for offering tutor service to Diocesan Girl’s School for winning the first place in Smart City Competition, a competition project organized by HKIE and the Education Bureau of Hong Kong.

Ernest was elected president of EAA’s Hong Kong Chapter in 2016. During 2013–2016, the EAAHK team organized various technical visits and seminars including visits to AECOM Central Wanchai Bypass construction project, China Light and Power Operation Center, MTR OCC Operation Center, Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong, STEMA robot school. EAAHK received many positive commendations from the event participants. Ernest will continue to build and strengthen the U of T Engineering alumni community in Hong Kong.
