U of T Engineering Professor Tom Chau (IBBME) and his research team, including alumni Eric Wan (CompE 1T0, ECE MASc 1T3) and Pierre Duez (EngSci 0T0, MASc IndE 0T3), have been recognized with one of Canada’s highest honours.
Six members of the U of T Engineering community have been honoured by the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE) and Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) with 2017 Ontario Professional Engineers Awards.
Professors Angela Schoellig and Tim Barfoot (both UTIAS) are part of a new collaboration with Drone Delivery Canada and Defence Research and Development Canada that will enable drones to navigate using digital cameras, as opposed to manual or GPS-based navigation.
Augmented reality startup ModiFace is investing $4 million to create new undergraduate and graduate student internships, and to support leading research at U of T Engineering. The company was founded by alumnus and professor Parham Aarabi (ECE).
