Q-tipping Point: Using Electrical Signals for a Rapid COVID-19 Test

November 26, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This year, we are taking our annual alumni event online. Hear about how researchers in The Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) are collaborating to make a rapid, less invasive COVID-19 test.

ECE PhD candidate Surath Gomis will speak about this new test’s sensing platform as well as the current state of testing and how engineering strategies can develop rapid diagnostic tools to help manage public health. This research was funded by the Toronto COVID-19 Action Fund, a University of Toronto initiative to help accelerate global solutions by supporting U of T labs and hospital partners.
