Nearly every organization today seems to encourage its managers, administrators, executives and other employees to be more entrepreneurial. Colleges and universities have launched entrepreneurship centres to develop innovators and mentor future business leaders. As the economy evolves, full-time jobs in conventional organizations will become scarcer. New technologies and changing consumer tastes will demolish professions and traditional careers. Marc Zweilling has taught planning and scenario thinking courses at York University’s School of Business in the Schulich Executive Education Centre. He is the founder of the Vector Poll™ and Vector Research + Development Inc., the market and opinion research firm. Vector Research has conducted public and internal opinion polls and focus groups in Canada and the U.S. for public sector, private sector and not-for-profit organizations since 1983.
Zweilling has served as a consultant or facilitator on strategic planning projects and scenario forecasts for clients in business, government, the charitable sector and post-secondary education. He was publisher of John Kettle’s FutureLetter, a newsletter on technological and demographic and social trends.
